The holidays are here, which also means that delicious homemade food fills the air. Oh yeah, and our stomachs. Countless people work so hard for that summer body only to gain it back right around this time. I don’t blame them. I’m eating left over turkey as I write this. 

Thanksgiving and Christmas are to blame but New Year’s is right around the corner to save the day. The one day of the entire year where I can officially, restart. Now I know that it shouldn’t take a resolution to finally get rid of this pooch of a belly but it’s not as easy as it looks. A lot of people do struggle with this and they need a group effort to kick start it. That’s why I’d like to share my one small quick tip for whipping yourself back into shape: HIIT.

It stands for High Intensity Interval Training. In other words, small bursts of intense exercises. The beautiful thing about this is the fun factor. You can mix and match as you please. Here’s an idea of what my HIIT workout looks like:

30 seconds: Pushups
30 seconds: Jumping Jacks
30 seconds: High Knees
30 seconds: Body Weight Squats

1 minute: Rest

This is one set. Now try to do this set 4x.
